Methodology
Story editing isn't about fixing problems for you. It's about helping you discover the best idea for the story you want to tell in the way you want to tell it.
How?
By listening, understanding, and (most importantly) playing.
Play is at the heart of my process. Forget overthinking backstory and getting intimidated by plot. We are here to create!
Through play, it becomes easier (and more fun) to analyse, experiment, and decide. It becomes easier to step outside the writing process and experience your story as the audience. It becomes easier to write.
That's why my aim is to simplify the process. Together, we will cut the crap, silence the critic in your head (which isn't even YOU anyway*), and get to the heart of what you're really trying to say.
With the Story Jerk method, you'll find a clear point of orientation to keep you on track and the confidence to explore the blank page, so you can remain focused and open and excited no matter where you are in the process.
